The Alamar Knot carries a lot of meaning in the Old Californio tradition. Some think it merely a decoration carried by the bridle horse only on special occasions. Its meanings run deeper than that and involves the romantic spirit of the Old Californio dons and vaqueros. This neckrope can be used for sprucing up your rig or when riding bridleless to give you some security. The knot is stitched to keep it from upsetting and the neck collar is adjustable by use of the simple sheet bend. We usually have a couple of these on hand and will be looking for a higher quality rope in the future from which to make these. These are from a basic poly type leadrope stock and have simple, heat-sealed ends to keep them from fraying Some folks like the frayed look and you can cut the heat-sealed portion off to allow for that frayed end look.
